Peira Review – Fast and Full of Debuffs

Peira Review – Fast and Full of Debuffs

There have been a lot of units who are incredibly strong in the Epic Seven meta, and Peira is perhaps one of the most notable ones. Although she’s not one of those units who can single handedly burst down pretty much any unit (such as Hwayoung), she is incredibly fast, great at setting up her team, and has put many older units out of a job.

Let’s look a little deeper into her kit, and see what to use her with.

Introduction

“The sole survivor of a tribe that was annihilated by an alliance of other tribes. Peira grew up with Arunka and considers her to be her sister, but she only drinks from the Goblet of Oath to avenge her tribe and leaves the Prairie with her followers. Soon, she conquers the North that has long been segregated and builds the Khan Empire, a country of the Suin.”

In a nutshell, Peira’s skillset is:

  • S1: Attacks an enemy, with a 30% chance to stun for a turn. If she has a barrier, effect chance goes up by 25%.
  • S2: Attacks all enemies, decreasing their buff durations by one turn before making them unable to be buffed and restricted for 2 turns each. Grants herself an extra turn.
  • S3: Increases all her allies’ ATK for 2 turns. After that, she grants herself stealth, escort and a barrier for 3 turns (barrier strength increasing in proportion to her level).

Essentially, Escort is a buff she plants on herself, where she takes 30% of the damage that all allies suffer (sort of like Aurius, but in buff format).

Analysis

It’s already been figured out a while ago that Peira is incredibly strong as a unit. Although she isn’t a unit that instantly wipes out every team (as she has an ATK that’s lower than most other thieves), the reason why she is so good is because of how well she is able to set up her ally team.

She has so many buffs and unique mechanics to her. Along with that, Peira has a shockingly high base speed of about 128 speed, which is so high; especially for a unit that sets up her team so well. Peira can easily be built to 300+ speed in order to easily lap around the enemy team.

Where to Use Peira?

Unfortunately, Peira cannot be used at all in PvE. Her skill set just does not work in any way, shape or form when it comes to PvE, as many of her debuffs are things that bosses are not affected by, on top of Escort pretty much being useless against said bosses. However, that does not mean that she’s entirely useless.

She is a very strong unit to play with in PvP. As mentioned prior, her high base speed, the fact she essentially has Cerise’s s3 in her s2, and makes sure that her allies don’t take as much damage makes her one of the best openers that have been released lately. She is strong in just about anywhere PVP related – Arena, World Arena, and Guild Wars.

Despite barriers scaling off of level tending to be a bit on the low side, Peira’s barrier is shockingly high, which makes her really durable and able to take a few hits (that is, if someone is able to get past her Stealth).

Builds

There is only one real build to use for Peira – Speed.

Speed/Anything – I’ve seen a lot of people use all sorts of different two-sets for Peira (such as Hit and even Immunity in some crazy cases), but a lot of people just throw whatever has the best speed on their gear. The necklace and ring stats don’t really matter, however the boots have to have the main stat of Speed.

I’ve seen a few Peira stats before, but what they all share in common is her Speed being abnormally high. 290+ Speed is the goal to use in her; however, 300+ is highly recommended. The faster she is, the higher her chances of being able to lap the enemy team and get to open up with a S2-S3 combo.

Artifacts

There are a few artifact choices to use on Peira. There isn’t exactly a one-size-fits-all build like there is with her actual gear, but there is more or less a few “acceptable” ones.

Rhianna and Luciella – This one is generally considered to be Peira’s best artifact to use. Because Rhianna and Luciella is an artifact that gives the wearer a low chance to grant them an extra turn. There is a low chance of her being able to trigger her s2 into her s3, and then use Rhianna and Luciella to trigger into her s1 and stun an enemy.

Nostalgic Music Box – This one is actually pretty rare to see on a Peira, but I have seen a few people use this on her, due to the randomized buffs that can be placed on an ally. Plus, the extra defense is pretty good for her.

Should You Build Her?

Oh, definitely! The main thing holding Peira back is the fact she has such a high gear quality necessity, but she makes for a great opener to use in RTA. Anyone who’s looking to play PvP and need an opener can really use Peira, as long as their gear is good enough to lap past the enemy team, just fast enough to trigger her s2 into her s3.

With that said, I’m Sara Ann, and I’ll see you in the next article!
