Updated Re-roll Guide for 2020 for Beginners

Updated Re-roll Guide for 2020 for Beginners

Overview

Rerolling is the act of creating a brand-new account to get the desired units to start with. If said person does not get the desired result they would delete or reset the account to attempt again.

The reason why people reroll their accounts are

  1. To get a strong farmer – a unit which has strong AOE to carry weaker units.
  2. To get a unit which is very strong in multiple content.
  3. To get a desired unit for cosmetic reasons.

How to reroll

It would be better to go through the rerolling process before deciding which units to reroll for. After completing the tutorial and completing stage 1-10, you get the selective summon as you can see below.

This provides you 10 summons for free. You may keep the summons or try again up to 30 times.  You can also use your sky stones which are your paid currency for extra attempts at summoning.

If you are unable to get the desired summons, you can reset your account so you can start again. To reset your account, you press onto the 4 boxes in the top right corner and press onto cog on the bottom right (see below)

Click onto reset server, this will wipe the data for the current server allowing you to start the process again however you will have to restart the tutorial and cutscenes again.

5star Tier List for beginners

S tier – Vildred and Ken

Vildred – One of the best farmer units in the game. All of his abilities are AOE which makes clearing weaker monsters easier. Another reason I highly recommend him is he can be used auto with skills off. This decreases the time it takes to clear the stage.

Ken – Very strong unit with self-increase speed, attack, defence and provides defence break and stun. He also scales with HP allowing him to be both tanky and deal a lot of damage.

A Tier – Iseria and Ravi.

Iseria – Iseria known to be the future proof unit as one of her abilities reduces the cooldown of another ally to zero. While she is very strong, she is only strong when paired to someone else who can benefit from the cooldown.

Because of this I recommend not aiming for her, but she is very strong and very useful in the mid to late game

Ravi – she is a self-sustaining bruiser like Ken. Ravi can deal a lot of damage while being tanky. She can be your farmer however she will be slow to clear out the monsters.

B Tiers are all viable to be rerolled for while C and D shouldn’t in my opinion never be rerolled for as they suffer from niche usages, better alternatives and/or underperformance in PVE and PVP.

There may be a lot of hate for putting Basar in the D tier however the problem of using basar for a beginner are

  1. used to open up with soul burn S3. This requires a maxed book which no beginner or even mid players will have. This is only good in PVP
  2. his main use in PVP, he is terrible in PVE content.  There are easier to obtain units which has better impact in PVE.
  3. This is a tier list for a beginner not a mid or end game player

Other points to consider

  • The 5-star heroes above are the only 5-star heroes you can get from the selective summon. To obtain other 5-stars, they must be obtained through the covenant summon or banner which sky stones can be used for.
  • You can only get one 5-star per 10 summons. This also applies to artifacts which means you can not get more than one 5-star hero or one 5-star hero and one star artifact
  • 5-star artifacts should not be rerolled for as a 5-star hero is more useful and has a lower % to get than an artifact.  4 and 5 star artifacts are class restricted – eg a knight cannot use a thief artifact.
  • Rerolling can take a lot of time to get the best outcome, sometimes its better to get a great 5-star and call it a day and enjoy the game.

4 Star Tier List for Beginners

These 4 stars are I recommend the most to reroll for.

S tier – Angelica and Achates (Recommend picking up one these especially if you got a 5-star DPS)

Angelica – strong heals on her S2 which scales on her HP, her main advantage is her S3. It provides AOE heal, shield and 2 turns immunity meaning they can’t become debuffed.

Her Soul burn extends the S3 by another two turns which is very good. Extremely useful in many different contents.

Achates – she is a hidden gem, her S2 can heal, reduce the cooldown by 1 and make a unit invincible, her S3 is an AOE heal and cleanse on a 3 turn cooldown. She can S3 into S2 on herself, which allows an AOE heal and cleanse every two turns. A great healer that is worth picking up

Karen/ Cidd – very strong DPS – Karen has one of highest burst potential and Cidd has one of the highest sustained DPS. Both units can provide defence break which is one of the most important debuffs in the game. Great units to pickup.

Clarissa – has decent AOE skills and self-attack and speed buff when she kills enemies. She is decent farmer unit with a def break for 2 turns on her S1. She can be used in PVE and PVP.

Alternatives units to 5-stars and 4-stars

Farmer units (Sez, Vildred etc)

There has been an introduction to a new water farmer unit at 3 star called Lena. She is an amazing farmer with very short animation on her AOE which resets on kill. Her S2 which is a passive, provides 50% additional critical chance to her self which makes gearing her easier. This allows you to focus more into attack or critical damage.

Another benefit of using Lena is that she requires stigma to upgrade her skills, Stigma is easier to obtain than molagora which are used for 4+star units.

Due to this new unit which can only be obtained from banner pulls or covenant summon, this brings down Sez and Clarissa’s farmer status as I believe Lena is better.

Healer units (Angelica, Achates, Destina)

A speciality change is a series of quests for to unlock a “evolution” of a 3star unit. This requires a series of specific quests to be fulfilled and the unit to be level 50. There are few 3-star healers which can be used.

Montmorancy also known as Momo has a speciality change to become Angelica Montmorancy. She is one of the best soulweaver (class) in the game because of her change. She is a water unit which usually replaces Angelica in the mid to late game because how strong she is.

However, she requires a lot of time and spirit stones which can take very long time, she also requires specific artifacts to really shine. She is someone to consider but she is not beginner friendly.

Another potential healer is Mascot Hazel, like momo she is a speciality change unit which is decent support and some healing. She is great when paired with fire units such as Ken or Ravi as she can provide many benefits such as greater attack buff, combat readiness and healing.

Unlike momo she has to be paired with a fire unit to reach a decent potential and her max potential is a team full of fire units. Currently she has limited uses in Golem and some guild vs guild battles but still a consideration.

Support units

There is no other unit that can reset cooldown but there is a 3-star unit which is very strong. Falconer kluri (F Kluri) which is a speciality change of Kluri has a dispel, provoke and defence break on one ability. Provides combat readiness to herself or to another rally.

She can be used to be the front but I think she is best used as a side tank with a tank healer in front.

Covenant Summon and Moonlight units

Using your sky stones, you can purchase bookmarks to pull on a banner or covenant summon. Rerolling allows you to have infinite chances to pull on a desired unit’s banner or a moonlight unit in the covenant.

A moonlight unit is a dark or light unit which has no elemental disadvantages when attacking another unit. This is very strong as attacking a unit which has elemental advantage over yours, causes a 50% chance to miss (cannot critical and deals 25% less damage).

The units are very strong moonlight heroes, but they are mostly for PVP. The best farmer – Arbiter Vildred is a moonlight hero which many people reroll for.

I highly recommend not to do the moonlight unit summon as the chance to pull one is 0.15% which is terribly low and if you want a specific unit, the chance is 0.01071%. It can be done but extremely time consuming.

There is another opportunity to reroll for, after clearing the story at stage 10-10, you get one moonlight summon which has a 2.5% chance to get a 5-star moonlight hero.

You can add other people to your friends list so you can use their units in the story. They can carry your team to speed through the story faster.

While doing this way has a greater chance of getting a 5-star, clearing 10-10 can be very time consuming and may not be worth the effort.

In my opinion, rerolling for moonlight heroes should not be done however the best unit by far in PVE and PVP is Arbiter vildred. Has strong and fast animation S3 which the CD resets when it kills any enemy.

Suggested units to reroll for

In order of I believe is the best to start with is

  1. VIldred and Angelica
  2. Ken and Angelica
  3. Vildred/Ken with Angelica or Achates
  4. Vildred/Ken with no healer / Any strong 5 star unit with Angelica or Achates

  • Failing battles does NOT consume energy. Unlike other gachas that I’ve played, you aren’t penalized for failing battles. The only thing you lose is time and your party will be at 1 hp after a failed battle. Don’t bother paying the healing fee though, just run an easy level and your healer will restore your party’s hp. This holds true even for Abyss and Labyrinth, you’re only penalized for failing in pvp.
  • Check labyrinth shop (Huche) every day. His shop refreshes daily and you can get to him quickly in Lab 1-4. If you Yield after checking his shop your lab entry will not be consumed so there’s no reason not to check his wares each day. I always buy every Ring/Necklace/Artifact charm that he offers. You can also check the Vagrant merchant in Normal 3-4 but I’ve never seen anything worth buying from his shop.
  • Join a guild ASAP! I didn’t join a guild until a couple weeks in and missed out on a TON of free stuff. Try to find a guild that participates in Guild Wars, you get a decent amount of mystic medals even for losing.
