Tier List Description

Note 09/06/2022: Change in kit. With the new changes, he is able to destroy barrier units, especially if they have a thick barrier. His skill 2 does damage based off how much hp the barrier protects, thus punishing barrier reliant units like Peira, Fallen Cecilia and Blood Moon Haste for example. His PvE utility is still not great, but he does shine in PvP now.

Build Notes

It’s not really recommended to build him right now because of the state he’s in, however he does okay in RTA, and some have build him for that. Desert Jewel Basar is considered to be a “one-trick pony,” and his entire gimmick is resisting and healing. As such, you’ll want to make sure that you have enough Effect Resistance and Speed on him. Even ATK is considered a wasted stat on him, because his healing will just always be bad, no matter how much you crank up his ATK.

The stats to aim for are about:

  • 250%+ Effect Resistance
  • At least 12,000 HP
  • 220+ Speed
  • 1,500 Defense

Note: You can swap out the HP% necklace for Def% in either builds if you need it, but note that means it’ll be harder to get the ideal HP% needed.

Increase his healing power. It's... not really much of an increase, but it's better than nothing. (Even though he still only heals about minimal HP on a tank.)

Gives him better survivability and some extra Combat Readiness when he gets hit with big damage. Pretty good artifact to use in general.
Celestine
Extra Healing
Since he's going to be using his S1 a lot, you'll want to increase how much he heals. As is, his base healing is very bad, so any extra healing counts.

Definitely S3 for the -1 turn cooldown if you use him for PvP. Apart from that, you really don't want to skill him up for now, because it's not worth it for the meager extra healing increase.

Here are some tips and tricks that I picked up from cleaving this setup:

  • This set up consist of 3 DPS and 1 Support

  • DJ Basar S3 can fully cleanses your team from harmful effects if Basar gets outsped

  • DJ Basar S3 also gives all allies 3 turn immunity which protects your team from being provoked by a counter

  • Guided Aither can soften 1 target and give an attack buff to all allies

  • Judge Kise and BBK can simply overwhelm the defensive team with raw their raw DPS

  • The main appeal for this comp is the absence of a “defense break” requirement for cleaving durable stall comps

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Very safe to cleave with

  • No effectiveness required

  • No defense break required

  • No immunity set investment required

  • No Hurado/Basar buff removal is required

  • Desert Jewel Basar build can be used on both offense and defense as well as all content

Cons:

  • Desert Jewel Basar is extremely hard to get

  • Very high gear investment is a must (High Crit/Speed)

  • This exact team composition will be difficult to recreate

  • This specific team comp will be countered by Moonlight Ken
